Greetings Slayers,

Production was completed on schedule!! Most of the world is still on a Late March through Late May delivery timeline. Japan will start shipping sooner. We'll update you as we know more!

Taxes for Canada, Iceland, Norway, and Switzerland have been added to Backerkit and will be charged on March 5th. Our apologies, taxes for these regions weren't set up correctly before. 

Production Complete

We did it!! We slayed production!

Our production schedule was aggressive, but we finished before Chinese New Year! We at Contention Games would like to thank our localization partners and our manufacturer Longpack for their tremendous effort in making this possible.

Locking Addresses

We'll be locking addresses in Backerkit on March 1st. If you need to change your address after March 1st, please contact us at [email protected] or message us on Kickstarter.

Declined Cards / Order Changes

Greetings Slayers!

Just a quick update in case your card was declined or you need help making last minute changes to your order. If that's not you, you can skip this update. Backerkit automatically emailed you if your card was declined. 

Cards Declined

We locked orders and charged all remaining balances on January 15th. If your credit card was declined, first make sure you entered your payment info in Backerkit correctly, then try contacting your credit card company, then finally try Backerkit support. You can reach Backerkit support through the "Need help?" link in the upper right. 

If you lost your Backerkit link, you can get a new one here. We will try declined credit cards again every Monday for the next few weeks. 

Last Minute Changes

• Changing Address - You can still change your address, but if you need to change your state or country, email us at [email protected]. Those changes affect shipping and tax costs, so we have to do it for you. We'll lock addresses in early March. 
• Changing Your Order - If you want to adjust add-ons or pledge level, you can email us at [email protected] and we can do it manually. Stock on some languages is already low. These changes can be made until early March as stock allows.

Lock Orders & Charge Cards January 15th

Happy New Year everyone! 

A reminder that on January 15th we will lock orders and charge cards! Please make sure you have completed the Backerkit survey by then.

You can get a Backerkit link here, or by contacting us at [email protected]. You can double check your order in Backerkit by clicking “edit your order” in the top right corner. We recommend checking that your address and credit card are up to date.

Common Mistakes

Here are some common mistakes we're seeing...

• The Collector’s Pledge and Neow's All-In already comes with Character Playmats and Metal Coins. You don't need these unless you want extras! 
• Neow's All-In already comes with Beta Art. 
• If you're not sure how many sleeves to get, there's a Sleeve Guide in our last update here. 

Production Trip

On November 30, I flew to Shanghai to be at our manufacturer Longpack for the start of mass production. 

Once the colors were approved, they would immediately start mass production. Prints were checked constantly to make sure the colors matched.

Then we flew to the sleeve factory where we printed sleeves over and over testing their strength and checking their color. 

The last stop was the foil factory where all the shiny happens. 

We'd like to thank Longpack for all of their hard work bringing Slay the Spire to life! They're currently on track to meet our deadline, and we're still on track for Late March through end of May deliveries.

Shipping & Taxes added, Production Update

Greetings Slayers!

Shipping & taxes (VAT and sales tax in some states) have been added to Backerkit and are ready for review. On January 15th (afternoon PST) we plan to lock orders and charge the remaining balance.

We also have a few Product Updates including swapping 2 foils and an Updated Sleeve Guide with final card counts.

Final Review

You can now review shipping fees, and we recommend that you check that your address and credit card are up to date. Although if you know that your info in Backerkit is correct, you don't need to do anything else. You can get a Backerkit link here, or by contacting us at [email protected]. If you haven't used the Pledge Manager yet, please do so! 

Shipping costs are updated below. They've generally gone up a few dollars, and a few more if you're getting the Table Playmat (which ships separately). Increases are mainly due to shipping in 2024 (instead of 2023), and the game getting heavier during development. Prices include a $5 subsidy, and the Table Playmat has an additional $5 subsidy (so Neow's All-In shipping is $10 off). Please keep in mind these prices do not include add-ons. 

Rest of Asia (this changed): Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam.

Rest of Europe: Belarus, Bosnia-Hersegowina, Gibraltar, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Macedonia, Monaco Norway, Switzerland, Serbia.

We are not shipping to Brazil, Iraq, Iran, Russia, and Ukraine. We also cannot ship to PO Boxes domestically or internationally. Due to the size of each package, there is too great a risk of the package being bounced back to us.

Product Updates

Die - The wooden die in the core box is now 18mm instead of 16mm.

Table Playmat - Is now 1166x787mm (about 100mm wider).

Metal Coins - Is now 30 coins (instead of 28).

2 Foils were swapped - The 2 Foil relics were causing production problems where we couldn't get the card backs to match non-foil relics, making them unusable. So we swapped them with cards that narrowly lost votes: Blasphemy and Defragment. We're sorry that we couldn't make the foil relics work! We hope you enjoy these new additions.

Updated Sleeve Guide

Art Sleeves Guide - The game already comes with all sleeves required to play the game, 450, which leaves 23 extra. The foils and Beta Art are intended to be a cosmetic option to swap out cards you already have. You don't need to get more sleeves for them unless you're using them in addition to the non-foil or non-Beta Art version. You should be ok using the Claw Pack without more sleeves if you're not sleeving any additional add-ons. Recommendations:

-Sleeve Exclusives (55 cards: 36 Foils, 10 Blank, 9 Claw*) - 1 pack Art Sleeves
-Sleeve Beta Art (381 cards) - 4 packs Art Sleeves
-Sleeve Exclusives & Beta Art - 5 packs Art Sleeves 

*Claw Pack comes with 1 instruction card that doesn’t need to be sleeved.

Clear Sleeve Guide - You can sleeve cards like relics, monsters, and events with clear sleeves if you want. Counts for those cards are below. You can sleeve all of them by getting the Sleeves for Everything Else add-on.

• 235 Poker cards (63x88mm) - 250 clear sleeves in Sleeves for Everything Else
• 112 Small cards (44x63mm): - 120 clear sleeves in Sleeves for Everything Else
• 26 Large cards (88x127mm) - 30 clear sleeves in Sleeves for Everything Else

Production has begun!! Shipping Timeline

Greetings Slayers,

Production has officially begun!! We're currently on track to finish production before Chinese New Year, which puts us on the following timeline. 

Timeline

Our current shipping window is late-March through mid-May with most units arriving in April. Delays can still happen, so keep an eye on updates.

• Early December - Shipping rates are added to the pledge manager. 
• Early January - Lock orders and charge cards.
• Late March - Fulfillment begins.
